The Pleiades M45

luminance: 10 x 300 sec, RGB 3 x 150 RGB binned 2x2 autoguided on 11/06/07.
Equipment: 6" f/3.89 newtonian astrograph with MPCC coma corrector and SXV-H9 camera mounted on a G-11.
Processing: Combined and digitally developed in Maxim D/L, processed in Photoshop CS with lots of hide-all layer masks and with Noel Carboni's Astronomy Tools.
This is a challenging object to do in color. Because the stars are so bright and the background nebulosity so dim, there's a real trade-off to any image of this region. My framing could have been better, and I'm still working on color balance, but I'm pretty happy with the final result as this is only my second full color image.
